A senior Midwife, Mariam Aziika with about a decade of experience as a midwife currently stationed at the Bolgatanga health Center in the Upper East Region Of Ghana is encouraging pregnant women who intends to embark on this year's Hajj to ensure they are medically fit as pregnant women as well as adhering to the clinical advice and medications given to them by health workers.

Hajj pilgrimage does not limit any Muslim from participating irrespective of one's gender, religious and Ethnic background and physical appearance rather encourages pilgrims to be of good health and sound mind in order to follow all the rituals of Hajj.

Since Hajj operations started in Ghana, women contributes higher number of pilgrims due to the importance of women performing Hajj by any son or daughter looking at the blessings that is derived from it. Many husbands also prefer their wives to perform hajj either alone or together depending on the Husband's financial strength .

With these analogy, women who are pregnant desire to perform Hajj irrespective of their conditions which most of them end up giving birth whiles performing Hajj. Madam Mariam Aziika, a senior midwife is pleading with prospective pregnant pilgrims from Ghana to be sincere to the medical team of the pilgrims Affairs office of Ghana by declaring their pregnancy statues to the team for responsible health care. She is also encouraging them to carry out personal health checks on antenatal services . 'I am much particular about my fellow women in the Zongo communities who may not have much knowledge on the type of physical activity that associates with Hajj pilgrimage especial to  pregnant pilgrims, she emphasized.
Madam Mariama is therefore encouraging the medical team of the pilgrims Affairs office of Ghana to recruit more midwives to handle female related health conditions due to the high number of women pilgrims. She applauded the medical team of the pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana for good work done as far as Hajj operations are concern especially how the team handle maternity issues.
